The majority of embroidered laces have a floral motif though we do stock a range of non-floral embroidered laces. Most feature a decorative border often with a scalloped edge. The design itself is often a balance between revealing the open tulle and the motifs or design that have been embroidered on to the tulle. Once embroidered, laces can then be embellished further often using beads, sequins or cording. Our tulles differ in composition (silk, cotton, polyamide though rayon embroidery on a nylon tulle base is the most common composition). You may also like the North Embroidered Ivory Lace. This design measures nearly 145 cm wide consists of an ivory tulle base that is embroidered on one side only. The embroidery has also been beaded: the resulting design runs from the edge of the tulle to 70 cm on the lace.
