When it comes to wedding dress material, the absolute classic fabric to use is lace. It's therefore easy to forget that there is a whole host of other fabrics to choose from, from well-known types like satin, chiffon, organza, brocade, georgette and crepe to more exotic offerings such as dupion, habotai, taffeta and mikado.
Our collection of wedding dress material is always being added to, as we continue to improve our impressive reputation for supplying the widest possible choice. We have recently added several new fabrics to our range, including:
Pamper
For pure luxury, Pamper is definitely a winner. This polyester heavy crepe, exclusively available in ivory, is thick, dense and heavy, creating a silky handle with excellent draping qualities. Added two-way stretch improves versatility and you can order without minimum quantities
Endearment
Ideal for creating gowns and garments with a structured style, this Mikado fabric has a relatively firm handle. An exciting twist is added with a beautifully-textured weave.
Kiss
Named for its incredible softness that feels as delicate as lips on skin, Kiss is an ideal alternative to silk habotai. The light weight of this ivory polyester fabric means that it is perfect to use as the lining of a wedding dress, though it is so sumptuous that it could easily be used as an outer fabric too
Don't forget you can order samples of these beautiful fabrics.
We have also added a selection of delightful silk fabrics to our collection: for more details on these materials, subscribe to our newsletter to receive an upcoming article...
