Sensational Scalloped Lace

Sensational Scalloped Lace

Lace has long been considered to be a traditional material for wedding dresses. For many, the delicate and feminine fabric is synonymous with bridal gowns. One of the most alluring features of both wedding gowns and veiling trim is the gentle movement or waves of the scalloped edges of lace. This is a classic feature of bridal lace. Scalloped lace was seen on the wedding dresses of Diana Spencer, Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales and Grace Kelly (also on her veil) to name but a few iconic wedding dress designs.
The lace below is a beautiful beaded Chantilly called Romy with delightful double scalloped edges though the design itself is a-symmetrical.
This popular contour is a very feminine and romantic finish and features on the majority of lace designs.  It is particularly prominent on Chantilly and Raschel laces, where, combined with delicate fringing, the lace evokes a combination of romance and beauty but can also be combined with a modern aesthetic. These beautiful laces can be combined with cording and beading to highlight the motifs or the edges of the lace.  Corded scalloped lace edging is particularly appealing and we offer many scalloped corded lace trims that can be used on veils and dresses.
The lace on the two piece bridal separates is called Katherine and you can see how the scalloped edge has been use on the bottom part of the bodice.
Mantilla veils, the Spanish-style circular veil, features a thick lace trim along the edge and intricate embellishments cascading down the front, framing the bride's face. Scalloped edged lace is typically used.
In the image below, you can use Raschel lace Alfonsine to get this look.
A scalloped lace is a favored style for necklines and sleeves.  Many lace designs offer a double scallop where both edges of the lace are scalloped.  If this is a particular feature of lace that you are interested in, we recommend a lace with a double scallop as this will offer better value for money.
In the image below the scalloped lace edging can be seen on the sleeves.  Us Kimmi lace for this look.
The nature of scalloped lace means it is also used a lot in lingerie and high end luxury nightwear.  Any garment can be embellished with a small amount of pretty lace trim with scalloped edges to elevate the look to the desired aesthetic. One of the finest examples of an ivory corded lace tri with double scalloped edges is Amelia - see below the pretty nature of this trim.  If you are looking for something narrower try Tamsin, one of our most popular lace trims.
