It's everyone's responsibility to protect our delicate environment and even the smallest, simplest lifestyle choices can have a big impact. Our online fabric store offers access to a growing collection of eco textiles, designed for the environmentally-conscious bride and her entourage. This edition of the Bridal Fabrics blog showcases five eco fabrics from the collection...
Territory: Eco Crepe
Territory is a lovely crepe material which is made using a sustainable blend of acetate and viscose. The acetate has been produced using methods that protect precious woods and forest and carries with it an official FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) declaration of conformity. 'Linters of cotton', waste produced during cotton spinning that would normally be thrown away, is used to create the viscose, which is certified by the GRS (Global Recycle Standard). If you want a spectacular eco wedding dress then Territory is the wedding fabric for you.
Momentum: Eco Organza
When you feel the beautiful, classic handle of this organza fabric, you won't believe that it's entirely made out of recycled plastic bottles! Weighing a delicate 50gsm (grams per square meter) Momentum is one of those dress fabrics that is so light that it feels like it's from another world.
Ensconce: Eco Soft Mikado
This addition to our growing collection of eco fabrics online is simply breathtaking, so soft that you'll never want to take your hands off it. Crafted with love in Italy with recycled polyester yarn, Ensconce weighs in at a feather-light 140gsm and has a truly wonderful handle.
