When movie star Grace Kelly married the Prince of Monaco in a lavish ceremony in 1956, she personified the radiance of a bride in the most divine and chic wedding gown.
The iconic gown she wore featured a lace bodice with a high collar (a returning bridal trend), elegant lace sleeves and a full skirt. The dress was made of delicate rose point Brussels lace and a taffeta silk skirt with three petticoats. The dress took 30 seamstresses at the studio six weeks to make!

Grace Kelly worked closely with Helen Rose, from MGM Studios, to come up with the design for the dress. The dress materials included "twenty-five yards of silk taffeta, one hundred yards of silk tulle and 125-year-old Brussels rose point lace."
